On May 27, South Korean police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of opening the plane’s door. During questioning, the man told officials he opened the emergency exit because “he felt suffocated and wanted to get off the aircraft quickly,” reported Yonhap.
The man told police he’d “been under a lot of stress after losing his job recently.” After further questioning, police are attempting to charge him with violating the aviation security law.
