However, with his newest collaboration, netizens have resurfaced his alleged racist, sexist, and fetishist tweets.

A thread of tweets compiled in 2021 by user @yutaacult detailed instances of MAX’s alleged racism over the years, including a tweet where he used the slur ch*nk. Others show his response to someone who believed he was Asian, with MAX saying that quality like him was “not made in China,” and the idol appearing to compare his Brazillian fans to a monkey.

He is also accused of fetishizing Korean people based on a tweet about his Korean neighbors and some following his visit to Korea in 2020.

Some of the alleged tweets also show MAX speaking negatively about women who post revealing photos of themselves. The tweet implies that these women do not have “class,” a sexist thought process.

Netizens reacted to all of this resurfacing, showing surprise at the now-deleted tweets.

While individuals can grow and change from their past thoughts, some were uncomfortable with how recent some of MAX’s alleged tweets were.
