“You Wanna Shoot Who?”: 4th Gen Boy Group Shocks Netizens With “Ghetto” Song

On May 21, TOP Media‘s five-member boy band MCND made their comeback with their sixth mini album X10 and its title track of the same name.
Yet, it’s the EP’s final track that has caught the attention of netizens.
The song in question is “TOP GANG Vol.2.” It’s a sequel to their 2020 song “TOP GANG” from their first mini album into the ICE AGE.
It includes various alarming sounds, such as sirens and gunshots. The lyrics are even more eyebrow-raising as they include “dead body,” “gang,” and “I wanna shoot ’em all.” When netizens heard it, they were taken aback, describing it as “ghetto.”

The song garnered attention on both X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, with over 161K and 70K views, respectively, at the time of writing.
@ilovesourgreengrapes Im lowkey moving though. This shouldve been the title track like imagine a music video to this 😭 #mcnd #mcndtopgang #mcndwin #topmedia #topgang #topgangvol2 #mcndgem #mcndofficial_
Netizens couldn’t help but laugh at the violent song compared to the bright, summery vibes of the cover art. It couldn’t be more different.
Many thought the song was ironic, considering gun laws in South Korea. The possession of firearms by civilians is strictly prohibited. So, a Korean can be imprisoned for up to fifteen years for the sale, manufacture, or possession of guns.
K-Pop fans were also terrified of the group performing the song in other countries where gun laws aren’t as strict. For instance, if this song came on in the U.S., it wouldn’t be funny…
Many also pointed out the song’s similarities to American rapper Pop Smoke, joking he now makes K-Pop songs. They named his song “Welcome To The Party” an obvious example.
What do you think about MCND’s new song?
