True Meaning Behind The Name DAY6 Finally Revealed After 9 Years
The meaning of DAY6‘s name has finally been revealed after a whole 9 years. The boys debuted on September 7, 2015. Fans had simply assumed the name held no large meaning behind it, and was simply one given by the company. In past interviews, the boys had replied that it represents the six days of the week, as there were originally 6 members when they debuted.
In their recent episode on IU‘s Palette, the boys finally revealed the true meaning and origin of it. The boys only found out the true meaning behind their name a whole 9 years after debut.

This was the first time we heard of its meaning after 9 years. We’ve never talked about it accurately. For 9 years, we thought that Park Jin Young came up with it. It was when the CEO was watching a movie. You know how in movies about disasters, the subs would be like ‘Day 1, Day 2,’ things like that? He said that ‘Day 6’ popped up. He saw it and caught a vibe. That was how it came to be.
