Min Hee Jin Reappointed As ADOR’s Director But Netizens Suspect It Is A Powerless Role
Min Hee Jin has reportedly been reappointed as an in-house director for a three-year term. Industry sources, including ADOR, indicate that the ADOR board held a special shareholders meeting on October 17, 2024 (KST), during which they approved her reappointment. Her new term will start on November 2, following the completion of her previous term on November 1. It’s noted that the reappointment was the only agenda item discussed at the meeting.
The former CEO has expressed that, for NewJeans to thrive, she needs not just the extension of her director term but also a return to the CEO position. Previously, ADOR’s board meeting in August led to her dismissal from the CEO role, with Ju Young Kim appointed as the new CEO.
In response to the news, fans and netizens have called out the company for more media play. As Min Hee Jin herself has previously firmly stated that the position of director did not guarantee her authority in NewJeans’ production, many believe that HYBE still has control over the girls and their artistry. Plans for a full-length album were revealed by Min Hee Jin, only to have HYBE’s recent company report show that NewJeans does not have new music plans for the rest of 2024.
and now Hybe erased newjeans completely from their Q4 plans this year.. https://t.co/sJDZXf6CNu

Fans have been calling this shelving of plans “sabotage.” Min Hee Jin would also realistically not have authority or power in the role given that she is no longer the producer for NewJeans.
- You should reinstate her as CEO. HYBE’s word play is at it again.
- Pathetic HYBE is playing with words LOL.
- They call her director, but her work as a producer is done, and if she’s not even a CEO, then isn’t it just a position for formalities? NewJeans must be so frustrated.
- Not a company director. What are they doing?
- She should be CEO, not director.
- They’re so evil.
- They should reinstate her as CEO.
- Reinstate her as CEO.
- What about the CEO? What about the CEO? What about the CEO?
