FNC Entertainment has just announced that Mina will be leaving AOA and the company after she decided not to renew her contract.
The confirmed that she will be leaving, with the other 5 members of AOA (Jimin, Yuna, Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Chanmi) renewing their contracts in their statement.
Hello, this is FNC Entertainment
We would like to share news about AOA’s Jimin, Yuna, Hyejeong, Seolhyun, and Chanmi’s contract renewals.
AOA will continue as 5 members, as they want to continue together as a group and they have renewed their contracts for the fans who have provided unconditional support and love for them.
We have been working with them with continued trust and faith, and we will provide full support to AOA.
However, after 7 years together and a series of long discussions with the members and the company, Mina has decided to take a different path to make her new dream come true.
We have decided to terminate her contract and have her leave AOA as we respect her decision.
Please give your support and encouragement to Mina, who has made her decision after a lot of thinking.
We will continue to support the 5 AOA members who renewed their contracts so they can continue their musical and individual careers, and so that they can share their new future with their fans.

With AOA debuting in August 2012, their contracts were set to expire in August 2019, thanks to the 7 year maximum contract length. FNC Entertainment has decided to terminate Mina’s contract early, so she can begin the second step in her career.
Recently, EXID also announced that both Hani and Jeonghwa would be leaving their company after their 7 year contracts expire.
