The police have begun an investigation after the Ministry of Justice received an email warning of a terrorist attack related to the Jeju Air plane crash.

According to the police, on December 30, around 11:35 AM, a 112 report was received stating, “An email was received stating that the Jeju Air crash was their doing.”

The content of the email revealed that the Jeju Air crash was their doing and that “high-powered bombs will explode in several cities in Korea on the night of December 31.”

The police have started investigations into the report after receiving a threatening email from Japan that predicted a bombing attack last year.

The report was received at the Gwacheon Police Station and is currently being investigated. Additionally, they are strengthening patrols in the Gyeonggi region in case of an emergency.

Previously, on the morning of December 29, Jeju Air Flight 2216 flying from Bangkok, Thailand to Muan, South Korea crashed after landing on its belly and veering off of the runway.
