MLD Entertainment Reportedly “Abandons” The Trademark For LAPILLUS, Fans Fear The Worst
LAPILLUS is a girl group under MLD Entertainment. They debuted in 2022 with members Chanty, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun.
On June 18, a post showcasing the trademark of MLD Entertainment on the name “LAPILLUS” gained attention. Their application date of June 18, 2022 through Dawool Patent and Law Firm was written down. Highlighted in purple was the word “abandoned,” suggesting that it was no longer being paid for and claimed by the company. It also often occurs when the owner “has not used it and has no intention to resume use.”
Fans took to social media to express their shock at this development. They took it to be a sign that MLD Entertainment could be disbanding or abandoning the group.

Considering that they are barely a year old, this was worrisome to many fans. K-Pop idols typically have a seven-year contract period, and LAPILLUS is only in their second year.
If it did not have anything to do with disbandment, many more fans were of the impression that LAPILLUS was being mistreated.
They slammed MLD Entertainment for not helping their girl group thrive despite having such talented members, saying that it “sucks to see wasted potential.”

This is not the first time they were called out for sub-standard management, with LAPILLUS’ senior group, MOMOLAND, also being subjected to mistreatment.
