Mnet To Create Female Version Of “I-LAND” With New Girl Group Audition Show “Girls Planet 999”
Mnet will be creating the female version of I-LAND with their latest girl group audition program called Girls Planet 999.
Mnet released the details for Girls Planet 999, sharing that the program will be targeted at girls from Korea, China, and Japan who are aspiring to become an idol and stand on the global stage. The show is planning to air at the end of 2021, and will show the journey and process of the girls as they head towards their dreams of becoming an idol in Mnet’s new virtual world “Girls Planet”.
UNIVERSE, the global K-Pop platform that was launched by NCSoft just recently, will be used by the show to offer various digital content as well as a voting platform, similar to how I-LAND used Weverse.
Girls Planet 999 will be recruiting applicants who were born before January 1, 2006. Prospective hopefuls can apply whether they are normal citizens or even if they have already made their debut before. Even if a hopeful is not Korean, Chinese, or Japanese, they are allowed to apply if they have ties to one of the three nations through their agency or residency, and more information is available on their website.
