Mnet “World Klass” Runner Up Contestant Lim Shares Their Pronouns
In a recent social media update, former Mnet World Klass contestant Lim shared their pronouns of choice with fans.
Back in 2019, Stone Music Entertainment and n.CH Entertainment partnered with Mnet to launch World Klass, a new global boy group survival show. While United States contestant Lim, who is of Cambodian and Filipino descent, didn’t make it into the final lineup for TO1, he did draw in many fans around the world.
Since departing World Klass, Lim has remained active on social media with thousands of followers. Now, Lim has taken to Twitter to announce something important to them: their pronouns.
According to a new post, Lim uses the pronouns “they” and “them” as well as “he” and “him”.

In English, singular “they” and “them” are gender-neutral pronouns used by an increasing number of people who don’t feel that their identities are properly represented by the more traditional “he” and “she.” While “they/them” pronouns are often used by non-binary and genderqueer people, pronouns do not always indicate gender identity—something Lim has been vocal about in the past.

Earlier this month, Lim also shared his well wishes to LGBTQ+ fans for pride month.

Since Lim shared their pronouns with their followers, they’ve received an outpouring of love and support from both fans and non-fans alike. Many were overjoyed that Lim was able to trust them with this revelation, while others expressed how validated they felt by someone from the K-Pop industry making such a big step. Even Billboard K-Pop columnist Jeff Benjamin shared the love on Lim’s tweet.

While gender identity and pronouns are still relatively undiscussed in the K-Pop sphere—in part because the Korean language rarely uses gendered pronouns—Lim isn’t the only starlet to speak out about the importance of respective them. Earlier this year, Weki Meki‘s Yoojung uploaded a cute and funny TikTok video about pronouns like “they/them.”
