On November 13, KST, Edaily reported that the 32-year-old had contacted the South Korean embassy in the Philippines asking for help to leave the country after confessing to the officials that she had used drugs. She reportedly claimed that she was facing a dangerous situation and received assistance going to the airport from the hotel and onto the plane from Manila to Seoul. But Kim never specified what kind of danger she was in. The embassy didn’t reveal what kind of assistance they provided to her and also stated that it was yet to be confirmed whether Kim was in any real danger.

On November 12, Tuesday, Kim Na Jung took to her Instagram and made a concerning post claiming that she was in a life-threatening situation. In another post, she confessed to having taken illegal drugs in Manila, adding that she couldn’t get on the plane to Korea because everyone there was filming her “like the ‘Truman Show.'” She also feared that boarding the plane would claim her life somehow.

Though she deleted the posts later, an anonymous netizen filed for an investigation into Kim’s suspected drug use. They filed an official petition for Seoul police to take up the case, as they believed celebrity drug abuse negatively influences teenagers into the same habit.

Kim Na Jung has reportedly turned herself over to the police for drug use, but it is uncertain whether it was before or after the anonymous complaint.
