MONSTA X‘s Kihyun celebrated his birthday with a few people this year!

MONSTA X’s Kihyun celebrated his birthday on November 22 with MONBEBEs (MONSTA X fans) by hosting a live broadcast.

During the live broadcast, he was joined by a few people who were also celebrating their birthday via phone call. One of these was none other than his fellow member Joohoney‘s mother. Since she and Kihyun share the same birthday, they talk to each on the phone each year, and this year was no different. So, he even put her on speakerphone so she could talk to MONBEBEs too! How sweet.

Kihyun: Mother~ Happy birthday! I’m doing a live broadcast right now. Yeah, that’s why I couldn’t pick up for a second. Yeah, it’s okay. Oh, are you watching the broadcast now? Oh, my voice is being heard again through the phone. Would you like to say something to MONBEBEs to celebrate our birthdays?

Kihyun: Everyone, this is Joohoney’s mom.

Joohoney’s mom: Ah, hello everyone. Why? Because I’m so quiet?

Kihyun: Please say some wise words as an adult.

Joohoney’s mom: Kihyun called for his birthday and to say Happy birthday to me so I was so touched.

Kihyun: For those that don’t know, Joohoney’s mom and I have the same birthday so I call her on my birthday.

Joohoney’s mom: Thank you. Monbebe’s I hope you are all healthy, and as we come to a close for this year, I hope that you all spent it well. I hope that you all have a healthy and bright year in 2023.

Kihyun: Thank you, mother.

Joohoney’s mom: Don’t laugh because I sound so different from my usual self.

Kihyun: Nah, mom you’re even more sophisticated usually.

Joohoney’s mom: You don’t need to say that… haha… Okay, do well!

As if it couldn’t get any cuter, Kihyun called BTOB‘s Eunkwang while they were both hosting their birthday live broadcasts. So, they made appearances in each other’s lives and addressed each other’s respective fandoms.

Kihyun: Aigoo, happy birthday, Director Seo! Hyung, what are you doing? Oh, I’m also talking with fans through YouTube live. Hyung, then can you say something on my live, I’ll also…hyung, can you start again?

Eunkwang: Hello MONBEBEs! Thanks for celebrating his birthday with him, and I hope that MONBEBE and Kihyun are happy forever!

Kihyun: Let’s be happy!

Eunkwang: Okay, say something to our Melody?!

Kihyun: Hello Melody I am Kihyun from MONSTA X. It’s such an honor to have the same birthday as Eunkwang. Melody, you all did well this year, and I hope that you and BTOB have another happy year together next year. Let’s be happy!

Kihyun also spoke with SEVENTEEN‘s Woozi. Kihyun asked for Woozi’s permission to put him on speakerphone so they could speak together with MONBEBE. They mentioned Eunkwang, too, revealing that it’s a yearly tradition for the idols who share the same birthday to call. Woozi had also recently wrapped up his birthday live broadcast.

Kihyun: Aigoo, Jihoon-ssi, what is it that you’re doing that made you not pick up your phone? I’m doing a live broadcast right now.
