To the list of all his “firsts,” MONSTA X‘s I.M has now added “delivering breaking news on martial law declaration,” an unprecedented experience for him and all other K-Pop idols.
The rapper and KBS‘s Cool FM radio show host has been leading the beloved “Kiss The Radio” program starting in July 2024. As scheduled, on December 3, 2024 (KST), I.M began DJing the late-night radio broadcast, on air from 10 PM to midnight.
Half an hour into the program, at around 10:30 PM, President Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial law and sending Korea into panic.

K-Pop fans felt for the idol, commenting on how “terrified” he must have been, given that he hails from Gwangju—one of the most significant cities when it comes to Korean history with martial law—and that he has three fellow MONSTA X members enlisted and serving their duties at this time.
- “Oh, no. It must have been so frightening for him…”
- “The thing is, he has THREE hyungs enlisted right now.”
- “If he’s from Gwangju, I can only imagine how he must have felt about the news. He must have been terrified.”
