It was recently revealed that mukbang YouTuber Tzuyang had been blackmailed by other YouTubers regarding her past. They allegedly extorted money out of her in exchange for not revealing details about her private life.

After the allegations went public, Tzuyang quickly turned on a live stream in the wee hours around 2am on July 11, 2024. In the livestream, she explained how she met her ex-boyfriend before she began working as a streamer.

This boyfriend had slowly begun to assault her physically. He used various blunt objects, such as umbrellas, to hit her. When she asked to break up, he threatened to spread a sexually explicit video of her (also known as “molka“) taken without her permission. He later brought her to his workplace, a pub, forcing her to work there and personally serve and pour drinks.

While in most cases, working as a waitress is common, for a girl to work as someone who pours drinks for customers is not looked upon favorably. She admitted to having worked there, albeit forcefully, for a short time. Her ex-boyfriend took all the money she earned. She was assaulted when she brought up wanting to quit. He even threatened to tell her family that she was working there. Although Tzuyang did not explicitly admit to shady dealings at the pub, the connotation that comes with the job was enough to cause fear and alarm. She began looking for alternative means to make money for her boyfriend.

She soon opened her streaming channel as a way to escape working there. He asked her for money, and streaming was a way to earn it. Tzuyang suggested that she could make money this way instead. She was beaten during that time too. Later on, as her channel grew, he set up a company and made her sign an unfair contract where he would take a 70% cut. She never saw a penny from any advertising fees.

Later on, when she was criticized for “under-the-table” advertisement deals, he made her stop streaming. Only when the public seemed to be alright with her, did he make her reopen her channel. Although she did not want to reopen her channel due to emotional stress, he forced her to do so.

The other staff in the company tried to take Tzuyang’s side after finding out the truth. The ex-boyfriend then threatened the staff, breaking cameras and monitors in the process. This continued for four years, and was only absolved recently.

She begged for him to leave, offering all her assets to him. When she cut off contact, he came to her house to look for her, bothered her staff, and continued to threaten her through the phone. The last straw came when he spread exaggerations of the facts to YouTubers, resulting in Tzuyang filing a lawsuit.

Tzuyang ended the explanation by claiming that she did not know much about the threats made by the other YouTubers, as her staff handled the matter for her. Tzuyang was stressed enough by her ex-boyfriend, such that her staff stepped up on other matters.
