Former Idol Addresses Accusations About Lying To Fans And About His New Girlfriend
Former N.CUS member and Fantasy Boys participant Nam Seunghyun has released a statement about his relationship.
He previously went public with his relationship, with his girlfriend even referring to him as “husband.” They have matching Instagram profiles, along with various couple photos together.
In response to the backlash, he has released a statement to address the criticism. Many fans had accused him of fooling them, due to a recent statement where he claimed that he was still trying to debut.
“Hello, this is Nam Seunghyun. I’m sorry for worrying my fans about the current controversial situation. I’m speaking up as there are parts that people are worrying about and misunderstanding.
Firstly, I did not have a girlfriend during Fantasy Boys. I had dreamt of becoming an idol, to the extent that I was trying to debut again. I undertook the program with my utmost sincerity. I was strengthened by the love from fans, and worked even harder, doing my best to pay back that love.
Currently, my contract with my agency has finished. I have now become an ordinary person who does not dream of becoming an idol any longer. I met my girlfriend after the show ended, and we are currently in a serious relationship on the premise of marriage. She is an ordinary person like me, and I hope that the speculations about her will be put to an end.
Because I was still a trainee then, I thought that it was too ambiguous of a situation to tell my fans about the fact that my contract was ending, and that I no longer dreamt of becoming a idol. I feel that things have come to this point due to my mistake of not having spoken up even in the least bit about my situation. I am sorry for having disappointed you.
