National Assembly Requests NewJeans’ Hanni To Speak On Workplace Bullying
NewJeans’ Hanni has been chosen by the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee to testify at the state audit next month.
The committee passed a resolution on September 30 requesting Hanni’s and HYBE’s Ju Young Kim’s attendance. They plan to question Hanni about workplace bullying.
Even if one is selected as a witness, they do not have to appear if they submit a letter of absence with a justifiable reason. However, if the committee determines the reason is not justifiable, you are ordered to attend. With this, many speculate that even if Hanni does not appear, CEO Kim is likely to attend.
Korean netizens left messages of support for Hanni.
- “I don’t think this is mandatory.”
- “The report says if she submits a letter of absence. It’s not mandatory.”
- “Hwaiting!”
- “Hanni can choose, but CEO Kim must attend.”
- “I wish she didn’t have to attend. I’m worried she will have a hard time. If she just chooses to attend, I will support her!”
- “Ah, so Hanni might not have to attend.”
- “I hope that this will become a stepping stone in improving the human rights of idols.”
- “NewJeans hwaiting! I hope they win!”
Previously, on September 11, Hanni stated during the YouTube live broadcast that she was bullied in the workplace.
