NBC News discusses “American-bred swagger” in K-pop
On April 25th, American network NBC News discussed the “American-bred swagger” in K-pop featuring examples like Ailee and Teddy Park.
The article titled “The American Talent Fueling Korean Pop Music’s Fire” featured some names well-known to the K-pop musical realm. Starting off with Jae Chong, the article gave a brief history of his development from the United States to Korea. Furthermore, it was mentioned that during an interview the producer shared his thoughts on the American presence in K-pop: “There’s something about kids that grew up in the States. They have a certain kind of swagger and certain kind of things that you can’t just learn.”
Next, it went on to share the histories of Ailee and Teddy Park, both of whom also share an American influence in their childhood years.
