NCT DREAM’s Haechan And Jeno Apologize After New Album Is Hit With Backlash
Following the live, NCT’s Mark went on to Weverse to share his thoughts about the comeback and address the hate comments they seemingly received during the broadcast. He shared that while he understands fans’ views, they shouldn’t question NCT DREAM’s “sincerity” as they’ve been working on the album.
“NCTzen! Congratulations on the release of Dreamscape! Haha, have you been enjoying ‘When I’m With You’?
I was so excited for our album release, having looked forward to it for such a long time, that I even felt a bit nervous last night before falling asleep (I guess I’m still a kid at heart). I went to bed eagerly anticipating today. Then this morning, we all agreed to wake up on time together to do a comeback live before the album release in Korea. Everyone gathered excitedly, but it turns out our whole team here in London had miscalculated the time by an hour. When we realized, we were all so disappointed and upset. The members kept apologizing to each other, and we all felt really sorry to our fans too. But since the album release had already happened and we had other scheduled activities to do right afterward, we had to disperse.
It weighed on me all day, and we eventually decided to do a delayed live. But during the live, I noticed many negative comments talking about issues with our sincerity and attitude regarding this comeback. I also saw a lot of other negative feedback spreading elsewhere afterward.
I completely understand why NCTzen would feel this way and say those things, especially because we couldn’t do the live at the right time. I am so sorry… It bothers me the most that those who truly support us, like NCTzen, might feel really disappointed by what happened today, even more than the people who already didn’t like us and were just being negative.
So, I just want to say this: Please don’t let this incident make you question DREAM’s overall sincerity and dedication. For almost nine years now, 7DREAM and I have been working with full commitment. I’ve seen it all up close, and I know that, despite the demanding schedule, every one of us put our hearts and passion into preparing this album. From the very beginning of preparing for the title track ‘When I’m With You,’ we worked with a lot of enthusiasm in our hearts. I can assure you of that. If I didn’t feel that commitment, I wouldn’t see any meaning in continuing. We’ve always given our best, no matter the schedule or our condition, and this comeback was prepared with especially high hopes and passion.
I wanted to clear up this misunderstanding between us and NCTzen as soon as possible, so I felt like I had to write this tonight. I have been personally looking forward to this comeback so much, and I really want it to be a happy experience for everyone.
It’s heartbreaking and heavy to face this unexpected situation right after the release. But if I say nothing, I’d feel bad for my past self, who was genuinely excited about this comeback even after so many of them. I hope any NCTzen who reads this will understands our sincerity and intention. We’ll do even better moving forward!
We’ll finish our last concert in Europe successfully and return to Korea safely!! Let’s all cheer each other on during the music shows!!”

mark lee has ALWAYS put his fans and his members above everything else, above himself. he is overworked to the brim and not once has he complained, yet you have the audacity to insult their hard work?
put some respect on his name, as a nct member, as dream's leader, and as a…

why should the people who worked the hardest apologize? mark and haechan have ALWAYS gone above and beyond, and given everything for this group at the expense of their own personal goals/welfare. they deserve better fans and a better company. they deserve better than this. pic.twitter.com/bwdWz0slb7
