“Single’s Inferno 4” Viewers Defend “Misunderstood” Cast Member

Single’s Inferno, Netflix‘s popular Korean dating show, is back with a fourth season and new singles seeking love. Once again, the road to love–and Paradise–is proving to be anything but smooth for the cast.

One of Season 4’s most discussed singles is Chung You Jin, a 28-year-old dancer who graduated from Ewha Women’s University. She is pursuing her master’s degree and enjoys doing free diving as a hobby.

So far, feelings about this little mermaid are mixed at best. You Jin was the first out of six female singles to be chosen for a date in Paradise–a swanky, off-island resort–by another popular single, Yuk Jun Seo. It all went downhill from there.

You Jin’s fellow singles and the show’s panelists seem to have lost love for You Jin after she returned to the island (Inferno). In particular, her “tipsy” scene on the swing was criticized.

this rubbed me the wrong way along with the judges’ reaction to youjin literally having fun on a swing. they acted like she committed a sin or embarrassed herself to the point that no man would be interested anymore…. like god forbid a woman is tipsy and acting silly https://t.co/5iFnXHn0YM

One panelist even described You Jin’s late-night swinging as “creepy,” as if she were a character in a horror movie.

At this point, viewers’ opinions about You Jin are mixed. Even so, many are coming to her defense, saying that she has been “misunderstood” and that some people are “overanalyzing” her scenes.
