SEVENTEEN Gets Flamed For “Dragging In Innocent Girl Group Members” Into HYBE Fiasco

Are they involving the girls in their fight with HYBE?

HYBE recently came under fire when their internal report was released. The report contained negative comments about various groups including aespa and NMIXX. Following the controversial report, SEVENTEEN‘s Seungkwan took a stand against the company.

In his post, he also uploaded a photo of a letter given to him by NMIXX’s Haewon.

A day later, Hoshi uploaded an Instagram story and tagged aespa’s Karina. The pair got close as friends through a variety show. He posted a photo of himself in front of a Prada banner with Karina on it, captioning it, “it’s nice to see you in New York, my dongsaeng.

Although both members did not have malicious intent, netizens wondered why they chose this timing to involve the girls with them. Netizens accused them of “dragging in innocent girl group members,” accusing the boys of trying to use the girls to quell flames given that both Karina and Haewon were two idols that HYBE singled out in their reports.

  • Losing my good impression of them. Why are they acting so obviously?
  • Why did she suddenly become his dongsaeng?
  • LOL it’s so transparent because their names were invoked.
  • Must they…
  • What’s the problem?
  • My life experience tells me that something feels off here.
  • What’s the problem? Everyone is mentally ill.
  • Their intentions are so obvious.
  • They’re such snakes. I rather they strongly attack HYBE and end things for all.

As SEVENTEEN has taken jabs at HYBE before, many netizens feel that they are involving the girls in their fight with HYBE by showing off their friendship with the girls. Suspicions were raised given that HYBE had specifically called out Karina and Haewon in their internal report. On the other hand, some netizens remain on the fence, agreeing that the boys did nothing wrong.
