  • “Since June? That’s crazy.”
  • “Was his contract with SM Entertainment also terminated? I know he was removed from the group.”
  • “I guess the company didn’t know either because he was on hiatus… The employees must be going through it right now.”
  • “June…? This motherf*cker! He got some guts coming to the fan meeting.”
  • “You all keep saying that SM Entertainment tried to negotiate with the reporters until they couldn’t anymore and then threw him out… But Korean hard news reporters aren’t like that. They are the worst kind. If they find out about something, they will release it.”
  • “I mean, it’s possible SM Entertainment might not have known because he was on hiatus due to his motorcycle accident. It’s not like a currently active member was taken in for investigation, but one on hiatus… How could they have known? If news or rumors were spread, they would have done a fact check. But since there was no talk, the company could not have known. He kept hiding and hiding until he got caught, and once the company saw that it was something they couldn’t control, they just posted the removal announcement.”

  • “If it was a currently active member, there’s no way the company couldn’t have known. But if it’s a member on hiatus due to a leg injury, the company could have found out later. I would assume they found out a few weeks before releasing the notice… I’m not trying to defend SM Entertainment. I’m not a fan of their artists, either. In fact, I dislike a lot of their artists. So this isn’t me trying to defend them or anything…”
  • “Summons notices are sent by mail, so if he wanted to hide it from the company or people, he could have.”
  • “Wow. So… Why did he promote…? This is so annoying.”
  • “If he intended on hiding it from the company, then how could they have known? He’s been in the industry for a while, and the members don’t live in dorms anymore. He’s the one who got into a motorcycle accident while driving home after work. I felt that the company didn’t set any rules after seeing that incident.”
  • “He was investigated in June but came to the fan meeting in August… F*ck.”
  • “What’s with everyone defending SM Entertainment? If it was a different company, there would have been tons of hate for the shielding comments… And why are some of you dragging a baseball player? So horrible.”
  • “Wasn’t his motorcycle accident not too long ago? He’s got good stamina… Crazy.”

  • “He was removed from the group right away, so whether SM Entertainment knew or not doesn’t really matter.”
  • “I thought he was injured… I guess not?”
  • “There’s no way SM Entertainment didn’t know. But they definitely didn’t waste time deciding his removal. He got cut off within months.”
  • “There’s no way SM Entertainment didn’t know if the investigation started in June 2024. I wonder why there was no news being reported on it.”
  • “Just because he was booked doesn’t mean he was investigated right away. He could have been investigated recently.”
  • “There’s nothing confirmed yet… Why is everyone so passionate about defending SM Entertainment? There are so many criminals that they just let slide… They’re not a clean company from the get-go.”
  • “He was on *hiatus* and he *doesn’t live in the dorms.* So how could the company  have known? Not one news article was released about it. Not even the sasaengs knew.”

With Taeil’s removal from the group, NCT members have unfollowed him on social media, and other member activities have been postponed due to the severity of the situation.
