12-Year Age Gap In New Popular K-Drama Becomes A Hot Topic
Age gaps are becoming more common in K-Dramas and whereas it was once mainly older male leads, this is changing.
The latest K-Drama that has gained attention for the age gap between the stars is No Gain, No Love.
The series follows Son Hae Yeong (Shin Min Ah) who seeks out a fake wedding with a neighborhood convenience store employee, Kim Ji Uk (Kim Young Dae), to avoid missing out on a promotion.
The show has already received amazing reviews from fans who are obsessed with the light-hearted nature of the show.
no gain no love is easily the best romcom out atm and probably one of the best of 2024 i was laughing so much watching this ep and then when this scene came about i started giggling and kicking my feet like a crazy person. the best balance of both ROM and COM https://t.co/9uTY0ufJ2v

Yet, one thing that hasn’t gone unmissed is the age difference between the two leading stars, Shin Min Ah and Kim Young Dae. Although she doesn’t look it, Shin Min Ah is 40 years old, and Kim Young Dae is 28 years old, boasting a surprising 12-year age difference.
On TikTok, the age gap became a hot topic.
While some netizens found age gaps odd, most netizens seemed indifferent. Not only did they point out that Shin Min Ah’s youthful visuals could mean she passes for being in her 20s, but they also pointed out that it should be as acceptable to have big age gaps with the female leads being older, as is often seen when it’s the male stars who are older.
