Netizens Call Out ADOR’s Min Hee Jin For Doing Exactly What She Criticized HYBE For

She previously criticized HYBE for the same thing.

NewJeans recently launched their album How Sweet. The new release consists of 6 standard version albums, including an individual cover for each of the 5 members, and a group one.

Three Weverse versions are also made available for those that prefer a slimmer packaging.

Although fans are excited for the release, netizens have turned to criticizing ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin for alleged hypocrisy. During her previous rants against HYBE, she pointed out their incessant number of album versions and multiple random photocard types as detrimental to the enironment.

“I told them to do ESG management. Having a sound management isn’t just simply about melting paper. Is this some kind of joke? All paper melts. What kind of joke is this. Instead, they should be printing less albums. Make it so that they print less. Why are they joking about this. In order to create a healthy environment, they need to have and understanding of governance and ownership, a road map on how to run a company. The owner needs to be able to create balance.”

NewJeans’ new album has 9 types, which is definitely a significant number. Many point out her hypocrisy in the comments in an online post that compared NewJeans’ album to aespa’s. aespa’s Armageddon has 20 versions in total.

  • 9 types? Anyway, having more types is also a tactic LOL. Can’t believe she had something to say.
  • aespa [heart], NewJeans [heart].
  • Whatever it is, she should only release one version or change it to digital versions if she’s goingt o talk about affecting the environment LOL.
  • Anyway, aespa and NewJeans weren’t rivals to begin with… They have their own rivals. And what’s more, aespa’s album is a full-length one… NewJeans only has two songs.
  • 20 types?
  • There’s many random photocards along with the different types, that’s why they’re getting cursed out. If they just give them all the photocards, then fans can at least chose by version.
  • Gasp, but I like the individual album covers…
  • She was going on about affecting the environment and that people should cut down on the number of album versions, but she’s an otaku who loves variety, with her own groups having 9 or 20 versions LOL.
  • She said that random photocards and different types of albums affect the environment and that she hoped it would be cut down. Was she just yapping?

Many continued to call her out for holding herself to different standards compared to the harsh ones she has for others. On the other hand, it has become standard practice for K-Pop to push out many different versions of albums in order to boost sales.
