Netizens Defend Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany After Accusations Of A “Shady” Response To Hearing A Line Sung By Former Member Jessica

“How are ya’ll taking something cute and making it shady?”

Netizens have come to the defense of Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany and a fan after a viral video gained attention, with netizens believing she was “shading” former member Jessica.

Girls’ Generation debuted back in 2007 and the group wasn’t without its ups and downs. In particular, in 2014, Jessica Jung was dismissed from the group.

Unsurprisingly, fans haven’t forgotten about Jessica’s connection with the group, especially after seeing hints in her recent book.

In the video at an event, a fan shouted the line “Tiffany, bring it back to 140,” and the idol responded without a second thought, “Girl, that’s pretty fast.”

In the video, a fan shouted a classic line from Girls’ Generation’s song “I Got A Boy,” and it was actually sung by former member Jessica.

When the video was posted on TikTok, the comments noticed this instantly, and while many pointed out the hilarious response being perfect, others unsurprisingly couldn’t get over the fact it was Jessica’s line.

Even on Twitter, when the clip was shared and watched over a million times, netizens seemingly focused on the fact that it was Jessica’s line and the apparent “sassy” response from Tiffany.

Yet, while some thought that Tiffany’s response to the comment was “shade,” others defended both the idol and the OP for the video.

In particular, fans pointed out that it was very unlikely that either of them realized it was Jessica’s line, with many netizens even pointing out that they didn’t remember who sang it originally.

Even the OP who said the line to Tiffany shared that she didn’t realize the line was Jessica’s and that nothing was meant maliciously.

The song was released such a long time ago that it wouldn’t be surprising if Tiffany genuinely forgot about who sang the line. Girls’ Generation never do anything out of malice, and it seems to genuinely just be an interaction where Tiffany is responding to a fan about one of their songs.
