Netizens Defend IVE's Jang Wonyoung From Unfounded Plastic Surgery Allegations

Netizens defended IVE‘s Jang Wonyoung from unfounded allegations accusing the star of going under heavy plastic surgery.

Wonyoung is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in K-Pop at the moment. Ever since her debut with IZ*ONE, Jang Wonyoung has snared the industry’s center position and has only solidified her position with the success of her group IVE.

When an idol receives so much love, however, often they also receive as much hate. In the case of Jang Wonyoung, many jealous netizens couldn’t believe that the idol’s visuals weren’t artificial and often accused her of getting plastic surgery done.

One netizen had had enough of these false rumors. On December 21, a post on an online community went viral. In the post, the author went through each of Jang Wonyoung’s facial features and argued that there was virtually no change in its appearance since the idol’s debut.

Netizens overwhelmingly agreed with the author and defended the idol from rumors alleging she had undergone plastic surgery. Netizens also argued that even if she did undergo surgery, the idol shouldn’t be criticized for it.

“Although she only did her eyes, let’s say she got more plastic surgery… Wonyoung already went viral at 15 for her (natural) visuals. Who cares if she did get plastic surgery? People are looking crazy by saying that a minor underwent major procedures.”
“You can’t say Wonyoung did anything besides her eyes. She looked like this since Middle School.”
“She looks the same now as she did when she was with IZ*ONE.”
“She just lost her baby fat, changed her makeup style and double eyelid lines. She doesn’t look like she got anything else done. LOL.”
“Even if she did get plastic surgery done, who cares? LOL. These days everybody gets their eyes, nose, and lips done. Why don’t these haters say something to them?”
