After being dubbed one of the most anticipated trainees, Lily managed to debut and has shone in NMIXX, showcasing her unreal talent, visuals, and charm.

As well as being an amazing singer, Lily is also a genuine person who likes chatting with fans about everything and anything. Recently, netizens have come to the idol’s defense after a clip from her recent broadcast was being used to try and portray the idol in a bad way.

Lily has always had a special connection with fans and is always finding ways to interact with them. In particular, netizens love her for her Lily’s Lost the Plot book and movie club.

Lily loves chatting to fans about the books and films she has been watching and, during a recent broadcast, the idol seemed to tease the next book she would be talking about.

While teasing fans, she seemingly spoke about the storyline and how she can empathize with the characters in her book, even if she hasn’t gone through the same experiences.

When I’m reading a book or watching a movie- I’ve never hidden a Jew in my basement before. However, I still can empathize with people who go through the sadness & happiness of that. That was a hint!

Of course, many fans knew that Lily was referring to the emotional book called The Book Thief, which has also been made into a movie.

The book is meant to be narrated by Death, and the story follows Liesel Meminger, a young girl living in Nazi Germany during World War II. While adapting to her new home, her foster parents conceal a Jewish man named Max Vandenburg, who is in danger of being sent to a concentration camp as the persecution of minorities intensified.

When the clip was posted, many tried to take it out of context, and it wasn’t surprising that fans saw some netizens trying to use it to call Lily out.

After noticing that the clip was gaining a lot of attention, netizens came to the idol’s defense to make sure that everyone knew that the idol was talking about the book The Book Thief, and she was seemingly speaking about it from the main protagonist’s POV.

Luckily, when the clip was posted on TikTok, fans seemed to know straight away what she was talking about but acknowledged that it seemed random without any context.

While idols try to share their lives and be normal, their popularity and fame mean that some people will try to take what they say out of context to make them look bad. Lily has a heart of gold and is just sharing her love of books with fans, so it isn’t surprising that and just wants to protect the idol.
