Netizens disagree with Cube Entertainment’s decision to debut a new boy group
On the last day of 2015, it was revealed that Cube Entertainment would be debuting a new boy group in the first half of 2016.
The group is tentatively called “Pentagon” and is said to be composed of ten members – Cube Entertainment’s largest group yet – however the exact members have not been confirmed.
Cube Entertainment is currently home to boy groups BEAST and BTOB. BEAST is the oldest boy group in the company after making their debut in October of 2009, with BTOB following a few years after. Although Cube Entertainment already has two boy groups who are currently active, it is said that the new group, Pentagon, will have a new and distinct musical concept.
Recently, BTOB held their first concert in Hong Kong and also promoted their latest mini-album, I Mean, and title track, “Way Back Home,” for which they achieved their first music show win since their debut.
Meanwhile, BEAST was active in Japan during the last nine months of 2009, releasing one track a month. The members recently released the music video for “Stay Forever Young,” their December track, which features behind-the-scenes concert footage. Member and producer Yong Junhyung also gifted fans with a Christmas release, “Anyway Merry Christmas.”
However, netizens expressed their overall discontent about Cube Entertainment’s decision to debut another boy group. Many cited the fact that promotional activities for BEAST and BTOB may have been lacking and that more time should be devoted to groups that have already debuted.

[+200, -9] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋHas Cube even done anything for BEAST and BtoB? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Why would they even make a group every year if they aren’t even capable of making a new group. Now that EXO and SEVENTEEN are doing well they’re going to make a 10 member group ㅋㅋㅋ
[190, -1] Honestly I never thought an agency would be the biggest obstacle in my life as a fan girl
[+160, -5] I’m seriously infuriated as a Melody. They take the most talented boys and the only thing they do is make antis. They over work them so much that they are too tired to even stand at concerts…and make main and lead vocals RAP at a special stage….CUBE are you crayz?
