Here’s How Netizens Are Reacting To The Jihyo And Kang Daniel Dating News
It’s official: TWICE‘s Jihyo and Kang Daniel are dating. Unfortunately, not everybody is happy about it.
On August 4, Dispatch reported that TWICE‘s leader, Jihyo, and soloist Kang Daniel (formerly of Wanna One) began a romantic relationship at the beginning of 2019. JYP Entertainment and KONNECT Entertainment have since confirmed the relationship.
Jihyo and Kang Daniel are currently meeting with good feelings for each other.

Many fans felt blindsided by the news, and Kang Daniel addressed this on his official fancafe. He apologized for not being “able to tell [the fans] before” the news went public. He also wanted to set the record straight; his fans were the ones who truly helped him overcome his adversity.
Many things have happened in my journey to be able to stand alone as I am now. There were times when I was completely exhausted, but my fans were the ones who continued to hold me upright. I wanted to emphasize this.

For the most part, international fans have been incredibly supportive of the new couple. They have tweeted out congratulatory messages and are wishing Kang Daniel and Jihyo all the best.

On the other hand, the response from Korean netizens has been overwhelmingly negative. Some of these fans feel that Kang Daniel shouldn’t be dating so soon after his debut and that he has “crushed the fantasy” idols sell to fans.
Regardless of whether they’re supportive of the relationship or not, many fans are urging their fandoms to focus on something more important than dating news: the music.
