Netizens Furious Over ADOR’s Response To BeLift Lab’s Alleged Plagiarism Of NewJeans
Netizens are calling out ADOR for its response to accusations of BeLift Lab plagiarizing NewJeans‘ concepts.
On November 29, ADOR revealed the contents of the email sent to NewJeans in response to their eight requests for the label, which included the issue with BeLift Lab. Former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin had accused the fellow HYBE subsidiary of copying NewJeans and even presented extensive evidence seemingly proving her claims to be true.
In response, ADOR dismissed Min and NewJeans’ claims against BeLift Lab, adding that there was no evidence to support these accusations.
Although ADOR announced they were preparing for a domestic fan meeting, full-album release, and world tour for next year, the artists continue to refuse discussion. Also, regarding the claim that BELIFT LAB’s plan was copied, we tried to confirm, but Min Hee Jin did not submit any evidence. BELIFT LAB stated that they have already responded enough through interviews, so it is difficult to confirm.

In addition, the label expressed its disapproval of such allegations, adding that they create unnecessary controversies that harm the artists’ image.
ADOR believes that making a hasty claim of plagiarism without specific evidence, as in the case of the allegations raised by Min’s former board member, would only harm the parties involved, stir up public opinion and stakeholders, and fuel an extensive battle over the truth without meaningfully resolving the issue. They also believe this could have a negative impact on the artist’s image. Ultimately, the artist’s unique style will be most evident through their successful entertainment activities. Therefore, rather than spending time and resources on the controversy over the alleged plagiarism of a proposal, where the actual facts are difficult to verify, it is considered more important to support the artist in engaging in activities that allow them to clearly showcase their unique style to the public and build a positive and distinctive image.

This response from ADOR has ticked off many netizens, who felt that the label was speaking in HYBE and BeLift Lab’s interest instead of protecting NewJeans.
• “And NewJeans wasn’t hurt? The PPT and witness are all right there, but they’re still pulling this bullsh*t.”
• “To be honest, they’re acting like nothing but the spokesperson of HYBE and BeLift Lab. ”
• “Who is this agency even representing?”
• “Why are they still talking about it?”
• “That hurt was caused by you guys. Why are you f*cking dragging NewJeans into it? You guys should apologize to the idols on both sides.”
Meanwhile, NewJeans recently held an emergency press conference to announce that they were terminating their contracts with ADOR. You can read more about it here.
