Netizens Plan To Attend “KCON LA 2024” For The Hosts, Not Performers
KCON USA, one of the biggest Hallyu-centered music festivals in the world, is gearing up for this year’s anticipated event. M Countdown of CJ ENM’s KCON USA has taken place in the United States each year since 2012, except for years affected by COVID-19, and has expanded to many other countries. KCON USA provides an opportunity for international K-Pop fans to come together, seeing popular and rising K-Pop acts. Thousands attend each year to see their favorite idols.
Yet, some are going this year not for the performing acts but for the hosts.
KCON LA will be held July 26-28 this year at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The official artist lineup and hosts were recently revealed. Performing artists include ZEROBASEONE, ENHYPEN, TWS, BIBI, BOYNEXTDOOR, P1Harmony, SHINee‘s Taemin, Jo Yuri, Kep1er, NMIXX, DRIPPIN, DXMON, and many more.
Meanwhile, the hosts were revealed to be former SF9 member and actor Rowoon, K-Pop soloist Jeon Somi, and Queen of Tears actor Kim Soo Hyun for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively. KCON LA hosts of previous years included IVE‘s Jang Wonyoung, Stray Kids‘ Bang Chan, Rain, Eric Nam, etc.
Netizens were shocked that an A-list actor, known also to be the highest-paid K-Drama actor, would host one day of the K-Pop convention. Not only were some thinking of attending for him, but many revealed they would attend just for Rowoon!
Some lamented that the hosts were revealed late, as they had missed the opportunity to buy tickets. Many wished Rowoon would not just host but also perform.
