Popular webtoon-based drama Weak Hero series, first released on the OTT platform wavve, has moved to Netflix and confirmed the production of season two. Netflix dropped the official news and cast lineup, including Park Jihoon, Ryeoun, Choi Min Young, Yoo Soo Bin, Bae Nara, Lee Min Jae, and Lee Jun Young.
Based on the Naver webtoon series of the same name, Weak Hero Class 2 (working title) is a survival story of Yeon Sieun, a model student who transferred to Eunjang High School with the trauma of failing to protect his friends from violence. Park, who plays the role of Sieun, is a voluntary outsider with no interest other than studying but shows an unexpected charm by fighting against violence after meeting precious friends.
Park Jihoon commented, “My heart is already pounding. Season one is a precious work that gave me my first rookie award as an actor. As expectations are high, I will also work hard to show you a new and upgraded image.”
The production team of Weak Hero Class 1 will also be working together again for season two. Regarding their partnership with Netflix, production companies Shotcake and Playlist stated, “We are grateful to be able to respond to the requests of viewers who have expressed their desire to see the next story of Sieun and his friends. This was possible because many people came together to help.”
Directors Han Jun Hee and Yoo Soo Min also commented, “We are excited to work with actors that we are fans of. Thanks to the overwhelming interest and love, we are happy to be able to participate in the next season. We want to finish filming with good and actors and staff in good physical and mental health.”
