Netizens Have Mixed Reactions To HYBE’s Lack Of Response Following BTS’s V And BLACKPINK Jennie’s Dating Rumors

The internet was sent into meltdown when Korean media received a tip-off with an image of what allegedly is believed to be BLACKPINK‘s Jennie and BTS‘s V in a car in Jeju Island.

According to the original uploader, the two stars were spotted riding a car with untinted windows on Jeju Island. The allegations were linked to other rumors that Jennie and her rumored boyfriend BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon have broken up. Jennie and G-Dragon were rumored to be dating but never confirmed nor denied.

This is a photo that was sent in today. It might be they’re lookalikes, but it is allegedly a photo of two top idols. The female idol, in particular, has been rumored to have broken up with an OG idol member. So fans seem to be more receptive to this photo as true. We won’t name any names as we are not able to fact-check the photo.

Only YG Entertainment has responded to the allegations. Although netizens weren’t too impressed with the “We have nothing to say” response, many pointed out that it was a common statement from the company for many scandals pertaining to their artists.

No statement has been released from HYBE, and it’s been receiving mixed reactions. Many praised the lack of interaction with the rumors as netizens claimed that a company as big as HYBE shouldn’t be wasting time with an “edit,” with others making lighthearted jokes about it, adding that they learned from their idols.

Yet, while many are praising the company for its lack of involvement or interaction with the allegations, others are sharing their concern about the lack of action taken to protect V. In particular, many compared it to the reaction amidst LE SSERAFIM Garam‘s bullying scandal.

While HYBE was quick to respond to the allegations of bullying on several occasions. Even hours after the alleged images were spread, the company has yet to respond.

Some netizens have gone as far as believing that the lack of statement and scandal could be being used to cover up Garam’s school violence accusations.

Many also pointed out that in other cases where BTS members have been rumored to be dating, including Jungkook and Lee Yu Bi and RM with a wealthy non-celebrity, the company has quickly shut down or addressed the rumors.

With both a BTS and possible BLACKPINK comeback on the minds of fans, many want the rumors to be clarified as soon as possible to avoid any more misunderstandings.
