NCT‘s Taeyong is facing harsh criticism following a message linked to the group’s Starbucks collaboration.
On May 30, Taeyong shared a now-deleted Instagram story featuring the word “boycott.” This was linked to the group’s collaboration with Starbucks by fans, which has seen backlash in support of Palestine as the brand is currently boycotted.

Taeyong has stopped drinking SB since the boycott started and now even he’s in the military and has only few hours to use his phone he’s still being the only one who speak up and posting it on his IG declaring that he’s indeed boycotting sb and NOT supporting any collaboration. pic.twitter.com/kR4F4pMq1v

However, netizens have reacted very differently to Taeyong’s message.
In a post explaining what happened, netizens slammed the leader for the message, saying that he was affecting the group’s image negatively.
- I’m only boycott you
- Would other members want to see fans leaving? They’re probably just staying quiet because of the images haha. Ah, seriously, NCT’s image is really taking a hit.
- The leader acting like he doesn’t care about the other members, even while in the military
- The king of selfishness
- Even in the military, you sh*t on NCT’s image
