Netizens Taken Aback By 5th Gen Boy Group Member’s Posts For International Women’s Day
On March 8, the world observes International Women’s Day, celebrating the social, economic, political, and cultural achievements of women.
On this day, a fifth-generation male idol won netizens’ hearts with his sweet messages to fans, celebrating the occasion. TEMPEST member Hanbin made sure to wish fans a “Happy International Women’s Day” on multiple social media platforms, including the group’s official Twitter account.

He also posted on Bubble, the fan communication app, wishing fans the same. But in the process, he ended up making a minor mistake. At first, before midnight on March 7, Hanbin sent a message saying, “Tomorrow is Vietnamese Women’s Day,” but soon realized his mistake and corrected himself.

In a viral post on the community site theqoo, a netizen pointed out that Hanbin is from Vietnam, where October 20 is celebrated as Vietnamese Women’s Day and is considered very important. The post also pointed out that Hanbin had changed his Bubble profile picture to a photo of him holding a flower, adding that the idol seemed to be enthusiastically celebrating the day throughout.
Though such minor mistakes can often be blown out of proportion for K-Pop idols, netizens found Hanbin’s shenanigans quite adorable. Many also implied that they didn’t expect such messages from a Korean idol, but once they realized he was a foreigner, it made sense.
