Netizens Are Surprised By JYP Entertainment’s Park Jin Young’s Moves To NewJeans’ “Hype Boy”
Producer, singer, and the founder of JYP Entertainment, Park Jin Young, recently released his new single, “Groove Back.” As a part of its promotional activities, the singer-CEO went on KBS’s show Music Bank for a special stage performance with the show’s MC and IVE member Wonyoung.
During the show, JYP’s stable vocals and stamina, along with Wonyoung’s stage presence, gained a lot of attention from viewers. But there is something else that caught netizens by surprise. During the pre-performance interview with the MCs, JYP was asked to dance to NewJeans‘ popular song “Hype Boy.” And boy, he delivered.

He gave a short performance, hitting all the key moves of the chorus accurately. But after the music cut off, he made a surprising revelation saying that he was asked to do the dance on very short notice and hence had no chance to thoroughly learn the choreography. The senior singer also went on to apologize to NewJeans for not getting the choreography entirely right.
Netizens were taken aback by how well he executed the dance, and some even wanted to see him cover the whole song in the future.
- “Ah, he danced so well it’s annoying me ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ.”
- “He danced well ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ it’s making me mad.”
- “I really didn’t want to see it, but it looked like he danced well. So I got curious and watched it, and he danced really well…ha…”
- “His dance was f*cking good. I want to see a proper full dance cover.”
But out of all the comments, the one that took the cake was where a netizen pointed out how JYP was dancing to NewJeans’ Hype Boy while dressed like LE SSERAFIM.
JYP’s love for HYBE girl groups is unstoppable, it seems.
