Most became aware of Hansol in 2013 when he was announced as an SM Rookie under SM Entertainment. The idol trained and promoted alongside many other rookies who have since debuted in NCT.

In 2017, Ji Hansol left SM Entertainment and appeared on the survival show The Unit. Around this time, it was announced that he would be part of J-FLO Entertainment‘s new boy group, NewKidd, and released a pre-debut single as a member of a subunit.

Hansol ranked high enough on The Unit, making the final boy group, who would go on to debut as UNB. Following UNB’s disbandment, NewKidd made their official debut in April 2019.

NewKidd entered a hiatus after their second release, leaving many fans wondering what was happening with the group. The next announcement regarding Hansol was a notice of his military enlistment in 2021.

After his service ended in November 2022, some wondered what the idol would do next.

A year later, O2 Dance Studios, a dance studio in Melbourne, Australia, announced that Hansol would lead a choreography class under the name SOL.

Ji Hansol is rumoured to want to remain in Australia permanently and teach and has no plans of returning as an idol.

If true, this would mean he has departed from NewKidd, who have been mostly inactive aside from a single release in November 2022 featuring two members.

We wish SOL the best of luck in his future endeavors, regardless of what they may be!
