HYBE Allegedly Disses NewJeans And Popular YouTuber Using Their Latest “Girl Group” SYNDI8
HYBE‘s newest girl group has already been hit up with plagiarism allegations.
On June 28, a post titled “HYBE’s Virtual CANARY Is Going On 500k Subscribed YourTuber Chol Ssak Man” went viral. In the post, the author uploaded a tweet from SYNDI8’s official account, which revealed that the virtual group would be appearing on a fake YouTuber’s (Chol Ssak Man) show.

Netizens immediately criticized the post and brought up parallels to NewJeans’ appearance on Chim Chak Man‘s YouTube show, which has been viewed 5.9 million times.
Notably, Chim Chak means calm while Chol Ssak (fake YouTuber) means to act out. Also, Chim Chak Man publicly supported Min Hee Jin during her feud with HYBE.
Netizens felt that the similarities between the show hosts were too similar to be a coincidence and criticized both HYBE and those involved in the virtual project.
