NewJeans Allegedly Dropped From HYBE’s Plans For The Rest Of 2024
NewJeans are notably missing from HYBE‘s updated fourth-quarter (October to December) schedule… and netizens are outraged.
In an earlier plan revealed during the second quarter, the young girl group was expected to release a new album in the latter half of the year. However, their Q4 activities are missing from a newly released schedule on October 14. The change — paired with the current tumultuous relationship between the group and HYBE — has ignited speculation online.
Back in March, during their Tokyo Dome fan meeting, NewJeans themselves mentioned that they were working on an album targeted for release in the second half of 2024. Despite these earlier statements, it now seems the album has been indefinitely postponed.

Even Min Hee Jin, the group’s former CEO (now creative director) confirmed earlier this September that work on the album had abruptly halted due to the legal feud with HYBE.
There have been major disruptions. I was dismissed while planning a surprise fan meeting for Korean fans. Vice presidents were also abruptly excluded from their duties and cut off. The work on the next album has also been suspended. It’s truly heartbreaking. This, too, is an act of obstruction HYBE is committing against NewJeans.

These sudden changes have sparked outrage among NewJeans supporters. Many accuse the company of being purposely mishandling the group’s activities and endangering their future.
- “They’re seriously pathetic.”
- “Save NewJeans.”
- “What the f*ck…”
- “NewJeans gave an ultimatum saying they wanted a response by the 25th, but the company hasn’t replied. Do you think NewJeans will continue their activities? The company can’t force them to.”
- “This is really filthy. Give us back NewJeans, damn it.”
- “Lately, I’ve been watching videos related to the National Assembly sessions, and what’s happening with this company is eerily similar.”
- “The album is on hold, but who’s worrying about NewJeans’ mental health? Just because they seem bright on the outside doesn’t mean they really are.”
- “HYBE, you’re pathetic.”
- “They had a plan for a full album, but they’ve just shelved it in plain sight? Absolute thugs. I hope NewJeans and Min Hee Jin have a swift and safe separation.”
