Nod From The Queen B? NewJeans Get A Shoutout At Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” Tour

Somebody check on Danielle!

A little over a year into their debut, NewJeans have become a representative group of fourth-generation K-Pop. The quartet is ruling in every field, from music to fashion to brand endorsements. Their impact is so widespread that even the biggest celebrities in South Korea and abroad have turned into fans.

In Korea, big names like BTSTWICEIU, and Jessi have openly expressed their admiration for NewJeans. Among international stars, the internet’s sensational singer Fujii Kaze and Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds are at the top of the group’s fan list.

But it looks like NewJeans has unlocked a new achievement with an unexpected acknowledgment from none other than Beyoncé herself. The pop queen is not new to K-Pop, given that she has already met the BTS members in real life, and her website has frequently given shoutouts to stars like Jungkook and BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo on their birthdays. MAMAMOO‘s Hwasa was also on the PR list of Beyoncé’s clothing line IVY PARK.

NewJeans have already joined the ranks of these senior idols with the latest shoutout from Beyoncé. The singer is currently on her RENAISSANCE tour, and its latest stop was Foxborough, Massachusetts. On July 1, she took the stage at the Gilette Stadium to perform to an audience of approximately 68,000. Though the RENAISSANCE tour has no opening acts, guest DJs occasionally come in before the main show to entertain the audience.

During the pre-show mix of the Boston concert, the DJ played a remixed version of NewJeans’ “ETA.” Fans at the venue captured this significant moment, and it soon went viral on Twitter.

While it is likely that Beyoncé is not involved in picking the songs the DJs play before the shows, fans celebrated this moment as a significant acknowledgment of the group’s wild outreach, and rightly so. It became even more important when they remembered how NewJeans member Danielle mentioned Beyoncé as one of her musical idols.

On the other hand, some couldn’t help hoping that NewJeans gets to open for Queen Bey for her possible Asia dates!

At the same show, the DJ also played a remixed version of IVE‘s “Wave,” earning more praise from K-Pop listeners for being so up-to-date with current musical trends.

The DJ later posted on Twitter, revealing themselves as the one “responsible” for NewJeans being played at the Beyoncé concert, and Bunnies couldn’t be more appreciative.
