NewJeans Gets Accused Of “Disrespecting Court” After Wearing NJZ Merchandise Publicly

NJZ (NewJeans) recently performed at the 2025 ComplexCon in Hong Kong. The girls sang their new release, “Pit Stop.”
Prior to the performance, the court had ruled in favor of ADOR, who had filed an injunction to prevent NewJeans from independent activities. Due to the ruling, the girls cannot legally use the name NJZ. Despite this, the goods that were sold on site contained the logo NJZ and included the name NJZ. This included things such as caps, T-Shirts, and more.

The girls returned to South Korea on March 25, 2025, early in the dawn. The members were spotted wearing NJZ merchandise. Minji wore the NJZ cap.
Danielle wore a cap with their new individual logos on it.
Hyein wore the same cap as Minji.
As such, international netizens have taken to criticizing the girls. They claimed that this was an outright show of disrespect of the court’s ruling.

Some expressed worry for the girls, accusing their legal team of failing to advise the members on what would be beneficial.
I think the girls lawyer is not helping them at all on winning the case. Like can't they give them proper legal advice https://t.co/k7srN6dqog

Another netizen harshly criticized the girls for “immaturity.”
These girls are so immature. They are so concerned w/ being petty & trying to “stick it” to hybe but they are going to learn soon that breaches of contract & Ip infringement have compounding consequences https://t.co/mKWDRLFfnR

Due to the court ruling, although the girls cannot officially use the NJZ logo, the usage of the products may not pose a legal problem.
