NewJeans Reportedly May Attempt To Leave HYBE Through Legal Battle

NewJeans reportedly may be preparing to leave HYBE.
On September 12, a Korean news outlet reported that NewJeans may be preparing to take HYBE to court to cancel their contracts.
The news report cites the fact that NewJeans gave HYBE an ultimatum to return Min Hee Jin to her original position as CEO, and gave the label until September 25 to do so.

The escalation follows a months-long feud between Min Hee Jin and Bang Si Hyuk, and a court order instructing HYBE not to fire the ADOR founder.
Trusted Korean news outlet YTN also reported that the group may attempt to cancel their contract with K-Pop’s biggest label if HYBE ignores the group’s ultimatum.
YTN cited precedents set by TVXQ while a news report harkened the situation back to FIFTY FIFTY members leaving ATTRAKT. In 2010, 3 members of TVXQ left SM Entertainment in a landmark legal suit that changed how K-Pop contracts are structured
