With the way things are going in the HYBE Labels vs ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin feud, more likely than not it seems that the two will be parting ways in one way or another, which has many wondering what the future will hold for Hee Jin. She’s been in the entertainment business for over two decades now, and has worked on many successful projects outside of NewJeans, so even many of those that don’t side with her in the feud agree that she’s talented in the field.
Prior to joining HYBE Labels in 2019, Hee Jin was an employee of SM Entertainment for 16 years, first starting as a graphic designer in 2002 and rising in the ranks to become a creative director. Some of the company’s most notable eras for artists such as Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, and Red Velvet were projects that Hee Jin was directly involved with, and she’s even credited with “shifting the visual direction of the K-Pop industry to become more concept-driven”.
In short, she’s made a huge impact in the K-Pop world, a fact that can’t be denied no matter how much people might disagree with her or not like her as a person.
Because of her time spent at SM Entertainment, her recent fallout with HYBE has sparked a discussion about whether or not it’s possible Hee Jin could end up returning to her former employer if she does end up leaving ADOR.
While it’s an interesting discussion to have, though, there seems to be a pretty one-sided argument that fans are having regarding the situation. On a public forum post, people shared their thoughts on the possibility of Min Hee Jin rejoining SM, but pretty much everyone agreed that that would basically be impossible.
Between her now-poor reputation in the entertainment industry to the people she was friends with no longer working at SM Entertainment, people had numerous reasons why this is unlikely to be Hee Jin’s future. There was also curiosity about whether NewJeans could follow her if she did move to SM, but that was also considered highly improbable.
