NewJeans Minji’s Soccer Kick Leaves A Professional Player Swooning
NewJeans‘s Minji might be known for her on-stage swagger as an idol, but recently, she took over the internet with her soccer skills.
On August 3, KST, NewJeans performed the halftime show during the Coupang Play Series match between Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich at Seoul World Cup Stadium. Each of the members also did a ceremonial kick, while being surrounded by the professional players of both clubs.

Minji’s kick, in particular, received quite the attention as she delivered it with unexpected power. As the ball flew across the field, the audience could be heard breaking into a startled roar and applause. Thomas Müller even applauded her kickoff skills.

But a picture capturing Minji’s kick went viral for completely different reasons, as netizens spotted Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur cheesing behind the idol while she kicked the ball.
Many joked that in that moment, Johnson was crushing on the NewJeans member, playfully calling him out for his lovestruck expression.
