NewJeans’ Parents Create A Temporary Instagram Account To Set The Record Straight And Blast HYBE for Fabricating Rumors

The parents of the NewJeans members have decided to proactively get involved in the ongoing legal feud between the group and their former agency, ADOR (and, by extension, its parent company, HYBE), in terms of the public communication aspect.

On January 31, KST, the NewJeans members’ parents launched a new Instagram account called “jeanz_pr” and made a lengthy post explaining its purpose. They stated that despite their best efforts, NewJeans’ stances in the ongoing dispute were not being communicated to the public effectively, and hence, they had decided to take a more direct approach with a dedicated social media account.
Hello. We are the parents of Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein.
This account has been created temporarily to represent their position in the dispute with HYBE, and we inform you that it was established due to unavoidable circumstances.
Since there has been no official channel to communicate their position, we have made multiple attempts to convey the facts through direct interviews with various media outlets or by contacting journalists we know.
Fortunately, some media outlets have reported our statements as they were, but this has been very limited. We also tried distributing the information through an agency, but often our position was distorted in headlines, making it difficult to communicate our stance without distortion through the media.

The post also bashed HYBE for its alleged media against the members and accused them of disseminating false information through media outlets as the lawsuit date approached.
While the members’ stories are either quoted in a distorted or negative light or only published in minor articles, HYBE and ADOR have been distributing hundreds of articles a day, including those from internet tabloids, without going through the usual fact-checking or rebuttal process that any reputable media outlet should follow. These articles often only represent HYBE and ADOR’s stance or contain false information.
[Unfortunately, as we approach a provisional injunction lawsuit, we have received information that HYBE and ADOR are distributing false articles targeting the members through tabloids to various journalists, which led to the creation of this account.]

The caption concluded with the parents apologizing to fans for this drawn-out conflict and re-emphasizing that they were the only spokespersons for the members, with this newly opened Instagram account as their official channel of communication.
We are deeply sorry for those who may be exhausted by this long dispute. However, the content we intend to share through this account will primarily address issues that are difficult for the members to communicate directly, and as their current only spokesperson, we urgently need a channel to correct the facts. We ask for your understanding in this critical situation.
