NewJeans Admits To Feeling The Pressure Of Debuting After HYBE Seniors BTS, TXT, ENHYPEN, And LE SSERAFIM
Although NewJeans debuted under ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE, there have been expectations placed upon the girl group for debuting from the same company as successful groups BTS and TXT.
The successful debuts of HYBE’s groups ENHYPEN and LE SSERAFIM have also raised those expectations higher.
As the newest girl group to debut from the company, NewJeans spoke to NME magazine about the weight of those expectations.
Coming from a company with so many beloved artists, Haerin admitted, “I do feel pressured as many people have high expectations for us.” Because they’re only human, she added, “And sometimes we get a little bit nervous.”
Because of how heavy those expectations could be, the group instead focused on their own goals and tried to enjoy every moment in front of fans. Haerin said, “It’s really fun just to be able to perform on stage.”
Their approach seems to be working. Not only are NewJeans enjoying their stages, but they’ve also managed to set and break records just by being themselves.
