NJZ’s (NewJeans) Parents’ Response To HYBE’s Negative “Media Manipulation” Earns Harsh Reactions

Recently, the parents of NJZ (NewJeans) issued a statement regarding rumors of discord in a member’s family.
According to a report from Chosun Biz, NJZ‘s (NewJeans) contract termination with ADOR was not agreed upon by both parents of one of the group’s underaged members, Haerin or Hyein. Netizen speculation named Haerin as the member in question.
The parents of the group issued a statement addressing this, denying that the member in question was Haerin and offering more details about the situation. The statement also accused HYBE of using the situation for media manipulation.
The statement denying that the member in question is Haerin confirms that it instead is Hyein. NJZ’s legal representatives also confirmed in March that there was an issue within one family.
In a post discussing the letter, netizens expressed confusion over the letter accusing HYBE of media manipulation using family members’ affairs but confirming who the member in question was. Some felt the situation was only worsened by the group’s parents and reacted strongly.
- Wow, isn’t this seriously too much? There are only two minors in the group, and if you say it’s not Haerin… that leaves just one person. They basically singled out someone else’s family like that in an official statement…? ;; And she’s the youngest, too… Are they trying to say, ‘It’s not our daughter’? This really isn’t right… Just… wow.
- This is seriously disgusting. What is Min Hee Jin’s cult leader-like influence that makes them so thoroughly brainwashed? They say not to speculate about family matters, but then go on to publicly talk about someone else’s family in such a specific way. Even if the kids are still young, the parents seem seriously problematic. I already thought it was too much when they openly took shots at the ILLIT members — they have daughters of their own, for god’s sake.
