K-Pop Fans React To NJZ’s (NewJeans) New Song Amid Trial Verdict, Hiatus, And Backlash

Amid the news that NJZ (NewJeans) is going on a hiatus “in respect of the court’s verdict” ruling in favor of ADOR, the group’s new song, released at “ComplexCon Hong Kong,” is receiving a mixed bag of reactions from K-Pop fans.
On March 23, 2025 (KST), as teased, NJZ revealed “Pit Stop.”
Given “Pit Stop” is the first song (and possibly the last) released as NJZ, it was all eyes on the performance. Revealed only as fancams from those who attended the concert, “Pit Stop” now has K-Pop fans divided.
Some found it “classic NewJeans” and want the official release, while others expressed disappointment in the “quality,” spanning from the song itself to the members’ skills.

- “I like these kinds of songs, so I think it’s good.”
- “The song is so good.”
- “Should’ve come out with something on the level of ‘Ditto,’ ‘Hype Boy,’ or ‘Attention’ to leave a real impression… This song won’t cut it.”
- “Not feeling it… but good luck.”
- “The beat’s good, but their vocals are weak, and the choreo is horrible. This is a huge drop in the quality.”
- “…Why does it feel like the lawsuit and its outcome created a swarm of haters?”
- “I want to listen to the official release…”
- “It’s somewhere between house and techno… Super trendy. They know what they’re doing.”
- “It’s not that the lawsuit created haters. More people just feel free to speak about what happened to the group now.”
- “It’s boring… This isn’t the level of quality I was expecting.”
- “Their debut song was the best. All of their releases kept getting worse and worse.”
Like before, the reactions seem divided—some people love it, others think it’s not strong enough to compete.

- “This is a banger, which makes the current situation even more frustrating. I hope everything gets resolved soon.”
- “It’s so good… I want to listen to the official release.”
- “The song isn’t all that great, and everything from their live performance to the styling just sucks.”
- “Did they really think they can ditch HYBE with this quality?”
- “So freaking good.”
- “IDK… It’s a little underwhelming.”
- “It’s so good, I’m shocked. I’m going to wait this out and hope for an official release… whether it’s on a streaming platform or a HD video. I love it so much.”
- “Wow… I guess reputations do make or break celebrities.”
- “TBH… It all sucks. The song, their skills… I can’t even understand what they’re saying except the ‘let’s go!'”
- “I can’t really make out the song either, but I can tell it’s a banger. Wow.”
- “It’s a good song.”
Following the recent court decision approving ADOR’s injunction request against the members, public perception of the girl group has turned negative—as the trial exposed alleged media manipulation, making it harder for fans to argue in favor of the NJZ members and Min Hee Jin.
