NJZ’s (NewJeans) Danielle Exposes Strict Rules And Treatment As A Trainee — Sparks Heavily Divided Opinions

NJZ (NewJeans) Danielle‘s comments about her poor treatment as a trainee have sparked mixed reactions.

During a live broadcast on Instagram, Danielle spoke about the rules they had as a trainee, explaining that they wouldn’t have been able to debut without following them. They included rules on going to the bathroom, constantly being watched over, and her meals being analyzed.
there are some meaningless rules while they are still trainees, they think they need to obey these rules or they won’t be able to debut :
– leaving messages before you go to the toilet – constantly being watch over when you are in the practice room
– sending pictures of what… pic.twitter.com/SkzSovBG9k— NJZ Loops 🐇 (@newjeans_loop) March 15, 2025
With the trend of underage idols debuting, Danielle also spoke about how young trainees are being treated worries her because they are being subjected to the conditions because they have a dream to debut.

Following the comments, the idol was met with a lot of praise for speaking up and speaking out against the treatment of idols when they are trainees, especially those underage.
Hanni : Differences between trainee and artist contracts, It's that we're all Humans.
Danielle : Trainees have dream of one day perform on stage / be a performer, they shouldn't be treated like dolls.

“why is everyone surprised? we already knew this.”
and this is exactly why danielle is shedding light on it AGAIN. it’s only normalized because you people view idols as dolls and turn your heads when someone points it out. https://t.co/ANLxhfSALE— ؘ (@catchmeovv) March 15, 2025
danielle’s courage in speaking up for young trainees and addressing the harsh side of the idol industry shows how much she values humanity and cares about others’ well-being.. my precious girl :((

Yet, on Reddit, thoughts were more critical, believing that if the rules were set, it was something that should have been spoken about in court, but also that if it happened while they were under SOURCE MUSIC, it could involve former CEO Min Hee Jin who was part of the creative team.
