Some K-Dramas, such as Business Proposal, and Netflix Korean film Love and Leashes, have progressed in some ways…
Still, viewers often associate K-Dramas with hand-holding and a “fish kiss” around the midpoint mark of the show. Western TV shows usually include making out or even sex scenes as early as the first episode.
So, a new K-Drama is shocking netizens with its explicit sexual content. A couple of scenes have been going viral on social media recently…
One scene shows the female lead walking outside when she bumps into her podcast’s sex advisor. The minor collision causes all her sex toys to fall out of her bag. At the time of writing, it has 640,000 views.
Netizens were shocked to see content like that in a K-Drama scene since it’s a culturally taboo topic. Yet, some were pleasantly surprised to see it normalized.
In another scene, the female lead asks him if he would have sex with her. So, it cuts to them making out in an apartment. At the time of writing, it has 325,000 views.
Netizens were arguably even more shocked by the steamy scene between the female and male lead. But they were loving it!
Although these scenes shocked netizens, they are relatively tame compared to the rest of the K-Drama.
The K-Drama in question is Coupang Play‘s Hit the Spot (also known as Fanta G Spot or Fantasy Spot), starring EXID‘s Hani, Dal Shabet‘s Woohee, Park Sun Ho, and Choi Kwang Rok. All eight episodes are available for streaming on Rakuten Viki.
Considered by many to be a warm, friendly, considerate person, Son Hee Jae (Hani) is surrounded by people who claim to know and love her. While having friends is always nice, the problem for Hee Jae is that she isn’t really sure if she really knows or understands herself. Which is why, when she suddenly finds herself in charge of a love and romance podcast, Hee Jae feels more than a little lost.
Having never really experienced an intimate relationship before, Hee Jae isn’t the most qualified person to be hosting a romance podcast, but with no one else able to run it, she really doesn’t have a choice. Suddenly thrust into a world she doesn’t understand, Hee Jae finds herself opening up to new ideas and starts to seek out new experiences. While Hee Jae begins to explore the world of romantic love, her best friend, Mi Na (Woohee) finds herself trapped in a loveless relationship and desperately wants things to change.
Pooling their lifetime of experiences and newfound knowledge, Mi Na and Hee Jae decide it’s time to both make a major life change by opening a sex counseling service together. Working to help others find personal satisfaction, will these two best friends find the satisfaction they both so desperately crave?

Hit the Spot is heavily focused on sexual content, so it is appropriately rated NC-17, “the highest rating in the Motion Picture Association (MPA) film rating system used for films distributed in the United States.” Even with the rating, viewers are again warned when they play an episode that it’s NSFW.
Sure enough, Episode 1 begins with a graphic sex scene, including full frontal nudity. You can expect more shocking sex scenes throughout the K-Drama too. So, obviously, viewer discretion is advised.
