Former NU’EST’s Aron Under Fire For Charging $740 USD For A Fan Event
Former NU’EST’s Aron recently announced a special fan event. He was preparing an overnight excursion camp-styled event as a treat for fans. He styled it after a college excursion orientation camp, calling it 2024 Aron College’s Spring Orientation Camp: Oppa and I.
The camp was to take place over 3 days and 2 nights. Fans would stay in the same accommodation as Aron himself, just like a college orientation camp! He advertised it as a refreshing camp full of heart-fluttering moments in the romantic spring season.
The problem came with the steep pricing. The event is priced at ₩990,000 KRW (about $741 USD) per person. Some felt that this was too expensive for a fan event, while others felt that it could be reasonable given what the package includes. It would cover accommodations for two nights (four to a room), 5 meals in total, merchandise, travel insurance, two-way travel on a tour bus, a tour guide, and various activities to participate in. They would be hosted at a resort in Gangwon-do, Wonju city.
300 lucky fans would get to participate in the event, and the ticketing page currently lists the event ad sold out.
While some are complaining about the prices, others wondered about the high audience to artist ratio for the camp, as well as the shared accommodations. Others expressed envy that an overnight camp with an idol would be possible.
